Philip Ross

Australia’s longest living long-term vegan

Philip’s journey into vegan living began over 50 years ago, driven by his passion for health and wellness. In 1969, at the age of 19, he discovered the works of natural hygienists Dr. Herbert Shelton and Dr. Alec Burton. Their scientific yet practical approach to healthy living resonated with Philip, sparking his lifelong commitment to Natural Hygiene.

Beyond personal health, Philip’s compassion extends to the animals through his volunteer work at Liberation Sanctuary, a forever home for rescued animals. As a regular volunteer, he helps build and maintain shelters and enclosures for the animals, ensuring their comfort and safety. His creative side also shines through his donations of paintings featuring the sanctuary’s animals, which now adorn the shelters and enclosures, bringing life and colour to the sanctuary.

Through his dedicated efforts, Philip exemplifies the values of compassion and care, making a tangible difference in the lives of the animals at Liberation Sanctuary. His journey reflects not only a commitment to natural living but also a deep connection to the animals and the planet he seeks to protect.

About Philip’s Chosen Recipe

Guacamole. It’s SOS free (salt, oil & sugar free), quick, easy and can be used in various way such as a dip with veggie sticks. My preference would be as a dressing on salad or cooked veggies.
