Noah Hannibal

Champion Powerlifter

Noah is a powerhouse in more ways than one. A long-term vegan and champion powerlifter, Noah holds two Australian Bench Press Championship titles and the Oceania Heavyweight Bench Press title. Competing internationally, he represented Australia in the 2022 Mr. America competition as part of the Vegan Strong Plantbuilt team, taking home a gold medal. With over 30 years as a vegan, Noah has proven time and again that plant-based athletes can be both incredibly strong and healthy.

Noah’s commitment to animal rights runs just as deep as his passion for powerlifting. Raised from birth as a vegetarian, he made the switch to veganism at the age of 15 after learning about the cruelty behind the dairy and egg industries. Since then, he has been a dedicated advocate for animals, spending years documenting the brutal realities of industries that exploit them, from the dog meat trade to factory farms and whaling.

Additionally, Noah channels his compassion into hands-on work for animals as a dedicated volunteer at Liberation Sanctuary, a forever home for rescued animals. From helping care for its residents to maintaining the sanctuary’s grounds, Noah’s efforts ensure these animals live in peace and safety.

The turning point in Noah’s journey into strength training came in the mid-90s when a bodybuilder he knew was mocking vegans as weak. Determined to shatter this stereotype, Noah challenged the bodybuilder to an arm wrestling competition. After being given a few months to train he surprised everyone—himself included—by decisively winning the arm-wrestling match. That moment sparked his powerlifting career, and he’s been smashing records ever since.

Through his achievements and activism, Noah continues to advocate for both animal rights and the transformative power of veganism. He proves that strength isn’t just about muscles—it’s about standing up for what you believe in and creating a kinder world for all beings.
