Amanda Walker

Co-founder/Owner of Lord of the Fries

Amanda is a trailblazer in the vegan fast-food movement, co-founding Lord of the Fries, a thriving franchise that has revolutionized the way people experience plant-based dining. With 15 locations across Australia and New Zealand, Amanda’s commitment to crafting tasty, compassionate food is at the heart of the brand’s success.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Amanda’s journey began as a teacher in Taiwan, where she met co-founder, Mark Koronczyk. Tossing Mark’s brother Sam into the mix, united by their shared love for French fries and vision for a better fast-food alternative, they set out to create a restaurant that honours health, the planet, and kindness towards animals. Their dream became a reality with the establishment of Lord of the Fries, a vibrant eatery dedicated to serving delicious, ethically sourced meals that delight the senses.

Under Amanda’s leadership, Lord of the Fries has grown from a humble food truck to a beloved quick-service restaurant, boasting a 100% vegan menu that features kosher, halal and options free from gluten. Her entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with a commitment to excellence, has not only transformed the fast-food landscape but also inspired countless individuals to embrace plant-based living.

Two decades later, Amanda continues to evolve the business, striving to create a positive impact for staff, suppliers, franchisees, and customers alike. She embodies the belief that food made with love can change the world, one fry at a time.

Her most recent project is called World Vegan Scene where she shares about vegan people, products and places from around the world, inspiring a global movement of compassion.

About Amanda’s Recipe

It’s so delicious and satisfying. It’s tasty on every level and reminds me of comfort, travel, celebration, abundance and simplicity. Add some salad, some wine and fresh bread and you are set.  Plus I love garlic, oil, salt… parsley …pasta… ok I love all the ingredients.
