Sarah is the founder of Growing Plant-based, a nonprofit launched in 2024 championing all elements of raising healthy, happy plant-powered children. Sarah’s journey into a plant-based lifestyle began in 2015 after watching a video that revealed the hidden realities of animal-based foods, igniting her passion for promoting a kinder, healthier, and more sustainable way of living.
With over eight years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Sarah has held leadership roles in finance, strategy, and project management, including her time as former-CEO of Doctors For Nutrition. She holds a degree in Business and Commerce from Monash University, is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), and has completed a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell University.
The arrival of her twin boys in 2021 inspired Sarah to focus on creating a better future for them and the next generation. This led to the founding of Growing Plant-based, which provides a platform for families to explore and embrace the benefits of raising plant-based children, helping them thrive in a kind and sustainable world.
Around the age of two, my toddlers became more selective eaters, especially when it came to saucy dishes. This walnut parmesan became my way of elevating plain pasta, adding a boost of omega-3s, healthy fats, and B vitamins. As a bonus, this walnut parmesan pairs nicely topped on a tomato-basil bolognese, which allows us to gently offer a saucy dish if they are feeling more adventurous!
