Amanda is a youth mentor, and author dedicated to helping young people thrive. She is the founder of Shine From Within, a holistic training school that has empowered thousands of teens and tweens to build confidence and shine in all aspects of life over the past twelve years. Through her online Youth Mentor Training program, she has trained over 300 mentors worldwide, guiding them in creating workshops that inspire and support youth across Australia, Europe, Africa, the U.S., and beyond. Her mission is to make sure every teenager has a mentor in their life, supporting them to thrive and be compassionate citizens of the world.
Amanda’s personal journey has shaped her gentle approach to life and her work. A two-year battle with cancer in her mid-twenties inspired her to embrace a vegan lifestyle, focus on living mindfully, and simplify her life—at one point, her and her partner lived off-the-grid in a shipping container and they’re currently living and travelling in South-East Asia. Her experience as an international model also gave her a deep understanding of the challenges young people face regarding body image, which has become central to her work in supporting teens.
As Australia’s first “eco-model,” Amanda has modelled for vegan, ethical brands aligned with her values, and her work has been featured in publications like The Collective, Vogue and Peppermint Magazine. Her best-selling book, Shine From Within: A Teen Girl’s Guide to Life, further solidifies her role as an advocate for young people navigating the challenges of adolescence.
Amanda is also an award-winning business coach, and a passionate advocate for sustainability, kindness, and gentle living. Along with her work for youth, she supports solopreneurs to find their own version of gentle, sustainable success in their business.
