Hi, I’m Jack Rock – a dad, content creator, and the voice behind That Vegan Dad. My journey into veganism started back in 2017 when my youngest son was struggling with severe eczema. After trying countless treatments with no lasting results, my wife and I discovered that removing dairy from his diet brought instant relief – and that moment changed everything.
What began as a way to support my son’s health quickly grew into a full-blown lifestyle shift for our entire family. As a former meat-eater myself, I know firsthand how overwhelming vegan eating can seem at first – especially when you’re feeding kids. But I also know how powerful persistence can be. My kids wouldn’t touch tofu in the beginning… now it’s just another food on their plate.
I started sharing our journey online to break down those common stereotypes around veganism – especially the idea that it’s too hard, too expensive, or not “manly” enough.
Through simple, family-friendly meals and honest content, I show just how easy and approachable vegan living can be.
These days, I run a YouTube channel, website, and social media accounts dedicated to making vegan life fun, accessible, and doable for everyday families. I’m all about recipes that are budget-friendly, kid-approved, and full of flavour – think vegan vegemite pinwheels, lunchbox ideas, and hearty mains such as bolognese risotto and butter chickpea curry.
