Vegan Cheddar Waffle BLT ★★★★1 review

Why make a sandwich with bread when you can make one with Cheezy Cheddar Waffles? Try out this quick and simple recipe for our Cheddar Waffle BLT Sandwiches with Maple Dijon Mayonnaise


Cheddar Waffles:

  • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp soy milk
  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt and generous crack of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated vegan cheddar (we used “Follow your heart cheddar shreds)
  • 1/3 cup chopped spring onions

Maple Dijon Mayonnaise:

  • 3 tablespoons Vegan Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
  • Salt/Pepper


  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Lettuce
  • Vegan Bacon AKA Facon, prepared (We used A&T Vegan Bacon)


In a bowl, combine soy milk and vinegar. Leave to sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, whisk in oil. Set aside.

In another bowl whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and pepper together. Add vegan cheddar and spring onions into the dry mixture and toss to coat the cheese and onions in flour.

Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour in soy milk/oil mixture. Stir well to combine, but don’t over-mix.

Cook batter in a waffle iron as per instructions. Once cooked, leave waffles to cool for 10 minutes.

Prepare sauce by combining vegan mayonnaise, dijon, maple syrup and salt/pepper. Whisk to combine.
