Jaffle Sandwich

The classic Aussie sanger (sandwich) gets a tex-mex twist.

Serves 1 | Prep time: 2 mins | Cooking time: 5 mins


  • 1/2 cup refried beans
  • 2 slices wholemeal bread
  • 1/2 tomato, sliced
  • vegan cheese, sliced or shredded (optional)
  • 2 tsp sweet chilli sauce


  1. Spread refried beans on one side of wholemeal bread and cover with sliced tomato and vegan cheese.
  2. Spread sweet chilli sauce on the other slice of bread, and close the sandwich.
  3. Cook in a sandwich press or jaffle maker until the bread is browned.
