”Veganism is about standing up for those who don’t have a voice. It’s about standing up for future generations who have the right to the world that we’ve had.”

''Veganism is about standing up for those who don't have a voice. It's about standing up for future generations who have the right to the world that we've had."

I am 19 years young and I connected with veganism on the 19th of February, 2015. After a long battle with distorted eating habits and a poor relationship with food, I found a way of eating that matched my core values and morals. My relationship with veganism has opened up my eyes to what truly goes on and by choosing to act with justice, you truly can make a difference.

Education, through watching documentaries and researching the cruelty of animal agriculture, lead me to having compassion for all beings, our planet earth and for myself.

I am grateful that I have found veganism because I am doing something positive for the world and for myself. Being able to enjoy delicious whole foods without the guilt, while doing no harm to the world and our animals makes me happy.

Veganism has been with me for one and a half years and it is now part of my identity. It is not a ‘phase’, as some people like to describe it. I believe it’s truly important to set an example to all others around us, especially our younger generations. Choosing to be kind and furthering my knowledge made me truly connect with justice.

Veganism is about standing up for those who don’t have a voice. It’s about standing up for future generations who have the right to the world that we’ve had. It’s about being role models to people of all ages so that they can hopefully follow.

Veganism is justice. Veganism is compassion. Veganism is making a connection. I am thankful to have made that connection that is in my heart forever.
