Hi! My name is Liv and I'm the creator of Liv Vegan Strong, currently living in New York City. I went vegan over 14 years ago and had absolutely no idea what I was doing or where to begin.

My name is Nicola. I am a physiotherapist working in the emergency department of a busy Melbourne hospital. I'm also a mum of two young kids, a very enthusiastic Crossfitter and occasional distance runner.

I never really liked to cook before. To me, cooking was a laborious chore in exchange for the pointlessly short enjoyment of eating. That is until I became a vegan! Only then did I care to create the foods I craved, as I was motivated to do what's right by the animals, and was equally equipped with a newfound enthusiasm to play around with culinary possibilities.

I definitely prefer animals to most human beings, cos I mean, who wouldn't right?

Freistyle is a food, travel and lifestyle blog, where I share my passion for healthy food and plant based recipes – but also pursuing my other passions like traveling with the family, styling and photography and living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Food for me is a passion. I find it strange when people comment on the restrictions of a plant-based diet, because to me there is huge variety in it. In fact, I’m probably more adventurous with food now than I was before I turned vegan. I love colour and vitality in my recipes as well as simplicity and elegance.
